How Do Authors Try to Create Feeling of Empathy In Their Readers?

A lot of authors create empathy in their readers. Empathy is a feeling that makes you be in someone else's shoes and feel the way they do. In the Breadwinner when Parvana reads the letter for the Talib she feels bad for him. That is a point where the reader would feel empathy for the Talib. I will be listing some ways that authors make their readers feel empathy.

One way for an author to make the reader feel empathy is for something bad to happen to a character. For example, when Parvana's father gets taken away. That makes the reader feel bad for Parvana. This is a good way to make a reader feel empathy. This also make the reader stay amused in the book.

Another way for an author to make the reader feel empathy is for something unexpected to happen. For example, if the main character has to go out of his/her comfort zone to do something for someone else. This also makes the reader interested and amused. Empathy is a great way to make your story an exiting one.

Wearing Burqas

Can you imagine if whenever you had to go outside you had to wear a great big burqa on your head? You wouldn't be able to leave your home without a burqa or your husband, you would constantly be in your house. There are many horrible things that happen to women in Afghanistan. I will be talking about what it would be like to be a woman that had to wear a burqa.

If I was a woman in Afghanistan it would completely change my life, in so many ways. I would only do housework, and i wouldn't be very educated. I would not be in good physical shape, because I wouldn't get any exercise and I wouldn't have a very good diet, because only men could work without a burqa. Which means that there might not be as many men to work. I would never have much to do, and i wouldn't get to see much sun. Now I can do many more things that I like, I have those kinds of choices that women don't in Afghanistan.

In Afghanistan there are many things that are not fair to women. One of those things is that women are not allowed to go to school, another is that you have to wear a burqa, and there are many more. No one would be able to see your face, because its completely covered. I imagine that it would be horrible that no one would be able to see how unique other women are, I imagine that it would feel like you were not important if no one wanted to see your face. Those are my thoughts on women wearing burqa's.
