How Do Authors Try to Create Feeling of Empathy In Their Readers?

A lot of authors create empathy in their readers. Empathy is a feeling that makes you be in someone else's shoes and feel the way they do. In the Breadwinner when Parvana reads the letter for the Talib she feels bad for him. That is a point where the reader would feel empathy for the Talib. I will be listing some ways that authors make their readers feel empathy.

One way for an author to make the reader feel empathy is for something bad to happen to a character. For example, when Parvana's father gets taken away. That makes the reader feel bad for Parvana. This is a good way to make a reader feel empathy. This also make the reader stay amused in the book.

Another way for an author to make the reader feel empathy is for something unexpected to happen. For example, if the main character has to go out of his/her comfort zone to do something for someone else. This also makes the reader interested and amused. Empathy is a great way to make your story an exiting one.
